General Overview
Ampex® is seeking a candidate with experience in FPGA RTL design and circuit design. The successful candidate must be able to work in a team environment throughout the engineering development life cycle process from requirements definition, design documentation, implementation, qualification testing and product support.
This is an onsite position located in Hayward, CA. No employer visa sponsorship is available.
Principle Duties
- Report to the Hardware Engineering Manager
- Conduct system-level requirements analysis and generate FPGA design specifications
- Design, develop, and implement high-speed FPGA Logic Design
- Take ownership of legacy designs for support and hardware obsolescence refresh
- Develop FPGA verification and validation procedures, including simulation and hardware testing
- Perform comprehensive verification and validation of FPGA designs
- Document and maintain FPGA design configurations and related data
- Assists with integration of hardware and software in the target systems
- Support team members with resolving design issues
- Assists with production support once the design is deployed into the field
Qualifications
- Must have a BS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent
- 5 to 7 years of experience in FPGA development
- Expertise in high-speed digital circuit design, including FPGA implementation
- Proficient in FPGA logic design, simulation, and synthesis tools (e.g., VHDL, Verilog)
- Experience with microprocessor and embedded system architectures
- Proficiency in design and simulation tools for FPGA development (e.g., Modelsim)
- Skilled in FPGA system test, validation, and debugging methods
- Experience in high-speed digital circuits and board design
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
This position may require exposure to information, which is subject to US export control regulations, i.e. the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be “U.S. persons” within the meaning of U.S. regulations.
Compensation
- Salary Range: $130,000-$140,000 annually (based on experience)
